It's your laugh that sticks with me Steve, The Lord needed you more I can only imagine, as a mason I always respected You my friend, I believe You and Dave Arcese are up there in Heaven full of joy, You're not forgotten. I'll always miss you, it isn't goodbye... but c ya later! Jeff the mason
Steve, i just got back from your viewing. Wow! Your life touched so many lives including mine. Work will never be the same without your smile and laugh. You may have left us but your memories will not. I'll see you on the other side.
These last few day have felt like an eternity. Your not born with instincts on how to fill emptiness. You can teach someone how to fill their hole either! It would be considered selfish if I said I miss you and want you back because god only knows you are having a wonderful time. I wish I could say this is just a dream and soon I'll wake up but I don't think I will. A wise man told me "Even if you are mad at someone ALWAYS say I love you when you talk to them!" You gave the best hugs and kisses. I wish I could just have 15 seconds with you that would satisfy me for the week! Words can not describe what my family has been put through but I know that god took his hand and walked with him through the golden gates. Where he was greeted by mamaw and papaw. Where his is now one of gods choir men to help introduce more people each day! I love you so much Uncle Steve. He left a strong wife and family behind. Who need each other. If heaven weren't so far away.
Love always taterbug!
(Super Steve) funny, respected, encouraging, friend, brave, leader, and a man of integrity. Even though this is a sad time for friends, family, co workers, etc, i believe that the life of Steve will over shadow our tears and sadness and bring joy remembering the man he was and still is.
God Bless the Smith Family
Steve always had a smile or a joke.He was a friend to everyone,We will truly miss the sunshine that he brought to work each day.

We are going to miss you a lot at Nova , always smiling and joking in our "meetings" about Tommy, Tony , Emilio, the lizardman, Jaime , Sam, etc..you will be always in our hearts I am sure that you will be smiling when you remember this punch line that you used to tell me all the time " hey pretty lady can I do you hair" , i remember crying of joy because the story was so funny.Your dear friend Saunders.
I always thought mom and dad, and Uncle Harry and Aunt Mary, and ALL of us kids were blood related...... Imagine my surprise, after reaching a certain age, finding out that we weren't! We seemed inseparable.... And it hasn't just seemed a lifetime, it is a lifetime because by the blood of Jesus we are blood related! And with that knowledge comes the blessing of know that we will be together one day in heaven with The Father. Steve Smith was a rare man and a great testament to his parents and their faith. I pray for divine comfort and peace and thank God in heaven for every wonderful memory.....

There are no words to express the sorrow i have in my heart for the loss of not only a good friend, but someone I considered my brother. Steve was one of my groomsmen when Melody and I were married. We fished and hunted together with his dad, Harry. Steve had a great sense of humor and would do anything in the world for you. My heart goes out to his loving wife Debbie, his children, his grandchildren, his sister, Tabi, brother, David, and his mom and dad, Harry and Mary. We are grieving here but I know Heaven is celebrating because a son has come home. My love and prayers are with this very special family.

He was the best grandpa that we could ever of had. (Kylie,Tyler,Scotty, and Luke)
He told me that he loved me more than anything.
I knew he loved it when we said to one another "love you too".
Its hard for everyone to live without him especialy Ed,Truman,Debbie,Tabi (barber), and all his siblings .
Everyone wishes this was all a bad dream or a really bad joke.
Its not going to be easy.
We miss him very much.
There are no words to express my sorrow and grief in the loss of Steve from this life. But I know he is living in heaven with Jesus and God the Father and smiling down on us. I remember his awesome smile. God has taken you home to be with him and only he knows why it was now. My prayers and thoughts are with all of the family. Family is precious. Enjoy every minute you have with each one of your family. The Smith family is a wonderful example of a close loving family. It has been a very long time since I have seen them but I know they love each other dearly. I met Steve many years ago and he taught me how to salt water fish. Our first experience was fishing for barracuda. It was awesome. We caught tons of them. After we caught the first one we cleaned it and put it on ice and used its meat to catch others. He told me they were excellent to eat. I said WHAT???? He laughed at me. We got back and cooked them up and it was the best tasting fish I ever had. We tried to go fishing as much as we could from then on. Good times and great memories. I look forward to seeing Steve again when God takes me to his kingdom. Christians have something to look forward to after this life. If you don't know Jesus as your personal Savior you are missing out. Debbie, Tabi, David, Paul, Harry and Mary. I love all of you dearly and you and the rest of your family are in my prayers and thoughts. I wish I was there physically but I am there with all of you in prayers and my heart. All my love and prayers always. Tom
