Melina Lee Platt, 39, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida died May 11, 2019. Born in Fort Lauderdale on June 6, 1979, Melina was a proud graduate of St Thomas Aquinas School. She attended Florida State University where she made the Dean's List, and subsequently transferred to the University of Central Florida where she received a BA in Liberal Studies. After graduation Melina studied and received a Degree in Superior Cuisine at the Cordon Blue Culinary Institute in Sydney, Australia. Melina returned to Fort Lauderdale and worked in progressively more responsible positions in the hospitality industry including Operations Manager at Blue Martini and later Kaluz. Melina loved to travel and the ocean and kept wonderful memory books of her trips through Europe, Asia, Australia, South and Central America, Mexico, the Seychelles and north Africa. She had a great sense of humor, was a gifted story teller and could sing like a bird. Her sweet smile and caring spirit shined a light on all who knew her. Melina is the daughter of George and Anne Platt. Melina is survived by her brother, Fred Platt and his wife, Denise; brother, Seth Platt and his wife, Suzann; her sister, Sarah Platt, nieces, Kristina Platt, Everly Platt, Sadie Platt and nephew, Nicholas Platt and wife, Anna.
A private burial service will be followed by a celebration of life and reception held at 4 P.M. on Saturday, May 18th in the Porter Ballroom of the Huizenga Pavilion at the Broward Center of Performing Arts, 201 S.W. 5th Ave., Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Dear George and Anne, My heart is heavy and sad hearing that your daughter Melanie has gone to heaven to be with Kate. My sincere sympathy to you as you grieve again for a loving daughter.
