Papasan crió a tres hijos: Gastón García, Ana María Corn y Guillermo García. También le sobreviven seis nietos: William García, Alexis García, Rachel García, Carlos García, Andrea García y Matthew Corn.

Guillermo Garcia, also known as "Papasan", was peacefully called by God on Monday, September 2, 2019, in his home in Pembroke Pines, Florida. His loving wife of 28 years, Blanca Pena de Garcia was at his side. Guillermo was 86 years old, just shy of his 87th birthday.

Guillermo was the youngest son of a prominent Cuban official, Gonzalo Garcia Pedroso. He attended Belen Preparatory school of Havana and completed his University degree in the United States. Guillermo began his engineering career in Havana, Cuba but was forced to emigrate from is home to the United States in 1961. At that time, all he owned were the clothes on his back and a box of cigars in his hand.

Guillermo passed away after a long and joyous life. He was a mechanical engineer for General Motors, mostly at the Lakewood Assembly Plant in Atlanta, Georgia. He was an artist, at heart and often sketched to occupy his time. He displayed great passion planning and displaying his annual nativity scenes. He traveled extensively with Blanca and contributed his time and efforts to various Catholic churches and organizations, such as De Colores, throughout his lifetime.
